Texas - OctoberExceptionally heavy rainfall has resulted in flooding in many areas of southern Texas. Our Distaster Relief Committee has been working with animal rescue in both San Antonio and Victoria areas. Southern Texas - AugustTropical Storm Charlie has left the Del Rio and Eagle Pass areas hard hit by heavy flooding. Our Disaster Relief Committee is currently working to get information on the conditions of shelters and pets in that area. They will be ready to assist should rescue efforts be required. East Coast United States - AugustHurricane Bonnie has hit the coast of North Carolina and the coastal area has sustained considerable damage. The Chairman of our Disaster Relief Committee is currently in North Carolina with the first response team to assess damage from the hurricane. Our disaster workers are on alert and will be ready to assist if needed. California - FebruaryCFA's Disaster Relief Committee and local CFA cat clubs helped when the BlueBonnet Cat Sanctuary was wiped out by a mudslide in Laguana Beach, CA. Money, supplies, cat trees, etc., were provided to help relocate the survivors. Northeastern United States & Canada - January/FebruaryThe northeastern United States and Canada was heavily hit by a severe ice storm.
